The new me - colour analysis part two

I have gotten really into this colour analysis thing. My husband says that it could be worse, I could have found some more obscure religion. To which I reply that I already have a more obscure religion.
According to the analysis I'm a summer, maybe a cool summer and when I really start putting fabric next to my face and comparing between colours it really makes sense. I have a red jacket and a berry red beret and whenever I've worn them I've always felt that I looked so good. Well, now I have an explanation. The right colour really makes a difference. I put a cold green fabric (the new green wool) next to my face and my eyes which always have thought rather boring blue-green-grey turned a spectacular turquoise. I have also learned that even though I have dyed my hair red for most of the last 15 years I really shouldn't have warm colours next to my face. So I decided to dye my hair in some kind of ash brown, which is my natural colour. Since I had so much red dye in my hair I had to use a darker shade than my natural dark blond. So I went for light brown. Unfortunately the hair dye manufacturers and I don't have the same idea about what light brown is, my hair turned almost black. Since I believe that anything but "level 3" dyes is for wimps I guess I will have to live with it. It doesn't look bad at all, just too dark. The new look is reflected in my new icon and a bigger version can be seen here. Not bad at all I think. But odd, after having had red hair for so long time.
Since I have been living in the false belief that I should wear warm colours I have also got a lot of clothes that makes me look less good. Some of the orange/mustard mundanes will end up with my friend Inger and yesterday I gave away a yellow linen "cotehardie" and a warm light blue 9th century wool overdress to my sister, who is a "spring".
There is quite a lot of garb in the "wrong" colours that I'm going to keep anyway, because I like them so much, but I need to get rid of stuff anyway.
It's funny, finally I've gotten an explanation to why I never really felt comfortable in this tunic, the warm yellow/white just doesn't look good with my pink toned face.

I've used L'Oreal twice-- comes in a white box with three geeky 70s-looking women on the front, thin red stripes. I don't know if that's available to you.

If you decide to go with it, please be careful that you don't let the remover process for too long, because it will make your hair very brittle.

My advice is to go to a stylist and have it done professionally if you're going to do it all. Messing around with hair color is just too risky in my world. I've had my share of botched dyes that were done by myself or well-meaning friends and family, so I always err on the side of caution. It is much more expensive at a salon, of course... But I think you get what you pay for.

In the meantime, the new color looks beautiful on you! I was going to say earlier that it's no wonder you're a cool summer... You're Swedish! You've got that gorgeous Northern European transulcent skin tone and everything! Myself, I think I'm a warm Autumn... I'm not positive, but I look best in warm neutrals and grays. I love grays... Most of my wardrobe is gray and black! LOL!

Yeah, I think that's what I will do if/when Iget tired of having this dark hair.
