yesterday´s shopping

frualeydisYesterday Anna, her sister Sara and I went to a second hand shop run by the pentecostal church. We weren't really looking for anything special, since none of us had a lot of money and at least Anna and I have waay too many things already. But I found some thin two-ply wool yarn (for mending wool socks) in several nice colours that will be good for embroidery and sewing wool clothes. I also bought a large spool of thin one-ply wool yarn in a soft heather pink colour to be used for the same purposes. There was also some hand made lace, I bought 2 metres of a "pointy" lace for a ruff and 2 metres "straight" lace, circa 5 cm wide to put around the neck opening f my "combination" for the edwardian costume. Those pieces were a little more than 1$ each. The real finds however were:
1) 5,3 metres of pale straw coloured fringe that will be put along the front edge of our sun/rain shade that we are going to make for our camp. It will be nice to have some protection against rain while cooking outdoors and just as nice to have some protection against frequently scorching sun in Visby. We plan to make the sunshade light so we can bring it to the tournament where it's always very sunny and damn hot and no shade to be found.
2)circa 4 metres of pink cotton chintz. Normally I wouldn't consider any kind of chintz a find, actually more something to be avoided at all costs. But since I was looking for a cheap fabric that I could use under my pink spotted voile without it getting caught by the under fabric this was perfect. And only about 8 $. So now I need my sister to give me my PoF back so I can start on the dress.
I am currently working on my rose-red early 14th cotte that has been cut out for at least a month, which is good, but I really should be cleaning instead.
