All that remains on the new kirtle is to sew the lining of the bodice to the waist and finish the edges of the slit in the skirt. Oh, I plan to put on some trim around the waist too, but it's not strictly necessary.
For the rest of the outfit I need bands around the sleeves of my shift/shirt and, ideally a new shirt. I have started on the new shirt but I'm not sure that it will turn out as I want to. If it doesn't I'll wear another shift and a partlet instead and make the gold and pearl "covered" shirt some other time.

I am proud of you! I actually sewn more than half the snaps on today. All that is left of my 1938 gown is 9 more snaps, hemming and the adding of the embellishments.
