About 7.15 into this clip you can see me being dragged by two police officers and then shouting. It's a protest against the building of the Öresund bridge, which while it is beautiful and the trains from Malmö in Sweden to Copenhagen in Denmark are really cool and practical, still did exactly what we (the environmentalists) said back in 1990 (when he clip is from) that it would do: increase car traffic a lot, something we really can't afford to do in this time of climate change.

It's so cool that you can do that! Here the government would just tell the army to shoot all the protesters, regardless of if they were being violent themselves or not.

I know, we're very privilegied here in western Europe. It was a great shock when one protester was shot (but not killed) here in Gothenburg in 2001, those things doesn't happen here. Not to mention the italian demosntrant who was killed by police the same year, we're simply not used to things like that.

Nice.
And I love the Swedish language: so pretty to listen to.

Have you ever checked how things really turned out?
Here's the first relevant link I found on google:

Basically, the negative impact is smaller than expected, but on the other hand many positive impacts on the environment are recorded.

I'm certain that if it would be proposed to return everything to its original condition, without any side-effects whatsoever (basically a reset to 1990) that environmentalists would protest loudly because of the rare birds, plants and insects on Pepparholmen, and the removal of the main food resource for several bird species.

It's all a matter of perspective :)

The problem with increasing car traffic is still there. But I was very happy to hear that the saline balance in the Baltic wasn't dsturbed the way we feared.
