Nude Albrecht Dürer

While hordes of female (and male) costumers have sworn that Albrecht Dürer might have been the sexiest man of his time we (or at least I) was not aware that there was a nude self portrait made by him. I feel now that I know a little more about Dürer than I wanted to know ;) Or at least ever thought that I would.

But then, that doesn't prove much. If I would draw myself naked, I'd probably flatter myself a bit.

I think I may have seen that on loan at a Dürer exhibit at the Chester Beatty Library in Dublin a few years ago. It at least looks familiar.

And yes, he is totally hot for a dead guy.

Hmm, not bad at all, but that really hooks me is the very elaborate way he's pinned up his hair! There are ribbons and scarfs and I don't know that going on there. Alas, yet another thing that was better in the olden days, I suppose. ;-)
