I bought (another) swedish journal from the 40s and this one has a description of how to make several varieties of turbans draped over a buckram structure. "The most beautiful turban of this winter". The winter 1943/44 that is.

It's not going to happen soon, but I'm quite sure that I will make it and wear it in public.

Date: 2010-12-15 09:14 am (UTC)I don't know if there were any fashion magazines in the Netherlands during WWII. There probably were, but no one ever talks or writes about i. If people talk about that time period, they always talk about the war and war related stuff, never about fashion.
But most likely, there were fashion magazines.
During hard times, people still feel a need for things that lighten life up womewhat, things like art, songs, humor, and fashion.
