"The inbetween days" as we call them in Swedish. It's a long dinner dress in 1940s style. One of the inspirations was this:

Due to fabric restraints the skirt is gored and not gathered (it's 350 cm at the hem) and the sleeves are ordinary puff sleeves reaching to above the elbow.

The fabric is a dark green viscose twill, which I got from my friend Anna. I made a new pattern for this, or rather: mixed pieces from different dress patterns, so I'm not 100 % sure that it will turn out well yet. Hopefully it will. Today I have zig-zagged all the pieces and sewn the skirt so I think I'll relax with hemming the skirt now instead of doing something that demands thinking. And I can watch more "Red Dwarf", while hemming - I gave Rickard the three first seasons for christmas.

I love it too, and wish I could do it properly, but mayb enext time. My dress is turning out more 1930s-like with its gored skirt, but I really, really like how it looks now too. In fact I only have the sleeves and the side zipper left. And maybe a narrow tie-belt like on the white dress.

What pattern number is that? I've got a jersey ..... Can't wait to see the finished product!

It's McCall 3511. At least according to the Vintage patterns wiki; there's seems to be a 50s skirt pattern with the same number though, but it's not that unusual. I don't have the actual pattern, I'm just using it for inspiration.

Cool. I'll have to keep an eye out for it. I might be able to wing it too. Do keep us posted!

I hope I will. If I have the energy to go down town today I will get a zipper and finish it.
