Do you know that in Moden 1790-1840 (in the book serie Danske dragter) there is a knitted empire dress that's at Nationalmuseum in Copenhagen? It's knitted in a lacy pattern from thin orange wool yarn!!
Wouldn't that be something for you Myra? They don't have a pattern in the book, but I guess one could make up something similar.

suppose i must rush home and check! i think i have the book in my stash somewhere. a knitted empire dress sounds fun to do :)

however, now i must rush off to have my yearly salary negotiation. ick! hate stuff like that.
