I've been doing some work on the sleeves on the black gown.
My mother and stepfather are here now and I'm going to help my mother with her hair for a fancy dinner they're going to. It will be at least 1930s-inspired, since she has made the dress from 1936 in PoF 2. It looks really cool and there will be pictures on my web site later. The problem with the hair is that she has long hair and shoulder length or shorter was the fashion then. And that I've never done anybody's hair except 14th century braids.
Oh, and I didn't get my six hours tonight either, a combination of waking baby and hurting body. Sigh.

I'm making a 16th century loose gown for Maja. It is soo pretty. I have now put in the hooks and eyes and sewn one row of "silvery" trim around the front edges and the hem and almost finished one side of the second row. It will have one row of trim running straight down the back and one from each shoulder joining it too. The inspiration is the young girl's gown on page 102 in Patterns of Fashion .
The sleeve mock up looks good so I will probably cut it from two layers of linen and one layer of wool tomorrow.
