Stupid body

My back hurts too much to sit and write and I also have a slight cold and feel a little queasy. I think I will curl up in the couch at work and read "Ceremoniernas makt", a book about royal ceremonies at the Swedish court in the 16th and 17th centuries.

Yesterday I made a hat

Since I can't watch TV or a film without doing something with my hands I started making a hat from a place mat while watching a swedish thriller from the 1950s called "Mannekäng i Rött" (Model in red) about murders in a Fashion store.
The place mat was made from a braid from polyamide and cotton. Though straw would have been easier to shape afterwards by dampening the hat it worked out quite nicely. But you have to get the shape right from the beginning.

It's one of those hats that look like a small sombrero with a flatter crown, quite common in photos from the 40s and preferrably worn tilted forward.

I have decided that I will try and translate all the posts I make in my swedish blog and post them here too. This will mean more photos of me in my everyday clothing, but I don't think I post so much that it will totally fill up yur friends' page.

Size Medium?

Today I wore my new jumper from H&M for the first time (and of course spilled orange sherbet on it). I ordered it a few weeks ago, but had to return it since size XL, which I ought to have since I'm a size 48/20, was large enough to put two Eva in. So I ordered a medium and it fit me nicely and wasn't tight anywhere. A good side effect of this is that the shoulder seams actually are on my shoulders (my shoulders are a size ten; the only part of me that is) and that the sleeves are almost the right length. The jumper itself is also almost the right size; I would have preferred it to be just a little shorter; but that's just personal preference.
