I am officially envious of you all americans (and that doesn't happen very often!) for having Halloween. The commercial powers tried to sell in Halloween here a couple of years ago but it never caught on and it had a very plastic feeling anyway, like the whole purpose of Halloween was to buy stuff. It's very hard to transplant a custom like that, I can't think of any really successful attempts right now. So here we don't celebrate Halloween.
But I want to dress up! But not necessarily as something from a horror movie and it seems like when they tried to transplant the dressing up on Halloween custom to Sweden somone decided that only horror costumes would do. When I look at you party pictures and costumes it doesn't seem to be so in the US. I guess I could make a nice 16th century ghost.
There are some clubs/pubs that have Halloween parties here in town but I'm not really the type of person that goes out to clubs. And definitely not alone and I can't think of anyone to go with.
Sigh.
Why are there never any fancy dress parties???
