Thanks to liadethornegge who showed me the link to the site I present this lovely late 13th-early 14th century embroidered purse. It is a given Ragnhild project in my eyes.

Hee! I can't claim to have found the resource myself, it was linked off armour archives, and also inspired me to similar things. You know, just as soon as I learn how to embroider free-form stuff.

It's probably at least partly counted thread embroidery. haugtussa has done some really nice things in that with sewing silk.
