this should preferably be said in Sunderland dialect, imitating Olga (Michael Algar)instroducing the Toy Dolls' version of Blue suede shoes: "This is the fastest version in the world". And he's not lying.
Leaving my strange associations aside I must say how impressed I am by [livejournal.com profile] ninya_mikhaila and Royal Mail. I ordered "The tudor tailor" on thursday and it arrived today!!
And I love it! Of course, according to my taste there could have three times as many pages with research and facts, but then I'm a disturbed costume historian. It's really the patterns I want it for. Now I shall finally conquer the sleeves on the Anthonis Mor dress, I am not happy with the way they look now.

Glad to hear you have it and like it Eva! Jane and I both agree with you on the number of pages, we were promised 240 pages originally but then the publisher appeared to get cold feet and reduced it too 160. We are now thinking that our next book will be The Tudor Tailor's Source Book, since we do have so much more research material than we could fit into this volume, especially on the data from ordinary people's wills, underwear, children's wear, surface decoration and info on Tudor Tailors. Since we have written most of this already we think we can turn it around pretty fast (assuming Batsford go for it), before moving on to the Stuart Tailor.
