Maja has chickenpox

There have been two cases of chickenpox at Maja's preschool and we have aniticipated her getting it and today we found five little red dots on her. Chickenpox is really good to get early, since it's much easier then. I had it when I was fifteen and had to stay in hospital because they suspected meningitis. The rest of the family has also had it so I don't think it will be much trouble. There is also some kind of stomach bug going around. Both Rickard and Maja have been affected somewhat, but I'm okay. I just have a toothache from my wisdom tooth trying to get out and itchy eyes from allergies.

My grandmother had none of the "childrens' diseases" as we call them here. That's chickenpox, the measles, rubella, parotitis and whooping cough. She died at 81 from cancer (and old age)My mother has only had rubella, she will be sixty this year.

I figure I had rheumatic fever-- maybe that was my "get out of chicken pox free" card...
