It is now two hours since dinner was served and Rickard has not yet been able to break away from his Lord of the Rings on-line game. I am NOT happy.

To be fair he made the first half of the pancakes, but I am getting increasingly annoyed with him being stuck in the game.

This is why no Computer on-line games are allowed in my house. The only system allowed is a Wii.

Excuse me a moment.

@#$*!)*@#* only two hours?
*collects self*

Seriously, when Chris was gaming hardcore, he'd be stuck in a game for upwards of 8 hours. I'm not even joking. They'd go on raids, or he'd make other in-game commitments and he was simply unavailable to me and the kids. so I ABSOLUTELY feel your pain.

that was why I had to make him quit playing totally. He could not moderate his behavior and it was destroying the family. (Especially because I couldn't drive. I can't tell you how many times we didn't have groceries in the house becuase I couldn't go get them and he just wouldn't.)

Being a previous EverQuest addict, I completely understand. It can be extreemely addictive if you aren't very careful. I do currently play WoW, but we do it in moderation, there is a group of 5 of us who play about once a week, sometimes twice, for about 3 hours at a time usually. This is scheduled time however, not the "we're going to x dungeon on a raid and we don't know when we will be done - don't plan anything for the next 24 hours" rediculousness.

On-line gaming is fun, but moderation is key.

That's pretty much why I swore off online games. I like it fine, I just know myself far too well to expose myself to that sort of temptation.

Ooooo, I would be so mad! I'd probably go over and pull out the cord for the internet.

My cousin once told me of how her ex-boyfriend was so addicted to a computer game that she couldn't distract him from it at all. She tried doing a strip tease, laying across his keyboard naked, unzipping his pants... Nothing worked, he was addicted to it like a drug.
