Piecing

I had decided to make a red cotton version of the dress in my last post for christmas. Unfortunately I bought too little fabric and was forced to choose between piecing and actually leaving the house to go down town and get some fabric. Despite the snow and - 10 C it's rather nice outdoors, but I'm not well now so I opted for piecing. It may work, But I won't know until I've sewn the skirt together. I also have very little fabric left for facings and none for ties, so I guess the ties will have to be made from some other fabric.

Well here is to your construction working out, and more importantly to you enjoying better health soon.

You know, if you make the ties and trim in green, it'll be realllly christmassy:)

I thought of that. But then I want to be able to wear it in summer too, so I don't want it to be too christmas-y. Right now I'm choosing between a matchign red ribbon and red ric-rac trim around the edges, a black or black and red ribbon for ties and black ric-rac trim or purple ribbon and ric-rac. Dark blue is also an option.
