The silk taffeta kirtle is finished

Actually it was finished already on Saturday, and Rickard took the photos on Sunday, but I've been rather busy since then. I had the photos taken outside to get better light to actually see the gorgeousness of the shot taffeta.

Back on track

It may not seem so, but it really is a good sign that I have trouble falling asleep because I can't stop thinking of work. It means that the processing of the rejections of my applications has reached the point where I'm ready to move on. I'm not ready to read the rejection papers yet, but I'm thinking about how to make new applications and how to make the old ones better. Right now I'm working on a presentation at a conference in Berlin in three weeks, a presentation that will hopefully become an article in a swedish anthology. It's a discussion of Scandinavian dress from the late iron age through the Middle Ages in relation to Europe, and what social meanings one can see in how Scandinavian manners of dress were constructed.

Probably the prednisolon is helping too, that I'm not hurting as much as a week ago, but I think it's mostly a mental thing. I still can't write much because of pain, but my brain is working again!!

ETA: I spoke too soon: apparently I am coming down with a cold. My head hurts and it feels funny and not at all comfortable in my nose and throat.

Aspie-test

I found this test via joyeuse60 and thought it would be interesting to take. Not that there has ever been any doubt that I put the N in Neurotypical, but I have more than one friend who either has Asperger's or lie very close to that field and I find it interesting to see how that has affected me and the person I have become.
